Charcoal Chinaware Manufacturing Process |
|
 |
| |
Many kinds of wood are used
for the making of craftwork. However, for charcoal chinaware,
the ash tree is most suitable.
For the manufacture of the product, ash trees need to
be cut and properly de-barked.
After the shaping process, a specific size scoop is made
in the wood. Then it goes through yet
another shaping process for the second and third times,
followed by the drying process.
Generally, wood requires more than six months for natural
drying, however, we use our specially
-developed wood kiln to finish the entire process within
two to three weeks, significantly reducing the drying
time by six months.
Next, a final shaping process is applied to the rough
wood that includes side, inside and bottom pro-cessing
and lastly sandpapering to ensure a smooth surface.
Various sandpapers are used from coarse to fine in order
to achieve maximum shine. After that, they are loaded
for kilning.
Our exclusively developed patent-licensed kiln is used
for this process. It takes about two to three
weeks to complete the process.
A high-quality charcoal has electrical resistance of less
than 10(§Ù). The higher the quality, the lower the value.
Our charcoal chinaware is high quality with less than
10(§Ù) of electrical resistance. |

After two to three
weeks of kilning, its size is reduced by 70% of the wood
material or 50% of that be-
fore kilning. After that those selected upon inspection
will be cleaned of charcoal dust three times.
(During the kilning process, the product becomes more
durable due to contraction and a coating layer
forms on the surface causing even finer porosity.)
Next, it is thinly coated with lacquer numerous times
for ten to fifteen days to enhance durability and to
heighten the visual appearance.
(This process provides a natural look and surface protection
by applying several layers of lacquer
coating.)
Once dried, flower painting using colored lacquer is applied
for finishing. Because colored lacquer is
absorbed into the surface, flower painting should be repeated
five to six times for two weeks. When
completed, it is packed for shipping.
Charcoal absorbs bacteria, smells, harmful chemicals and
toxins as well as providing medical trea-
tment and preservation. Recently, a variety of charcoal
products has been manufactured and used to
enrich our lives. Charcoal Chinaware takes full advantages
of these benefits added with artistic
quality. |
